Anthracite grey RAL 7016 has been the most popular uPVC frame colour in Warrington and the wider North West since around 2019. It's on more new-builds than any more colour and has become the default replacement choice for period properties too.
The reason is versatility. Anthracite sits well with red brick, buff brick, render and stone. It doesn't show dirt the way white does, and it doesn't date the way woodgrain effect can. A white frame on a Victorian terrace can look clinical; anthracite looks considered.
Dual colour — anthracite outside, white inside — is the most common specification. It gives the street presence of grey with a bright, clean interior. Most uPVC ranges offer this as standard, though it adds 5–10% to the price.
The one place anthracite doesn't work is conservation areas and listed buildings. Warrington has several conservation zones where black, white or timber-look is required. Always check with the local planning authority before ordering.
